Delta Lloyd Leg Nine Day 2 QFB: received 15.06.09 1142 GMT
Monday, June 15th, 2009Well, it’s was really great to see so many people come to this little island to see the starts, beyond expectations I must say. I don’t think I ever seen so many spectator-boats on the water during this race so far. As far as the eye could see there were boats, a magnificent view! Thanks Marstrand for that complete relaxed pit-stop and fantastic goodbye.

Monday, June 15th, 2009We passed Green Dragons and Telefónica Black and made good gains on the rest, so after a rather disappointing day yesterday, this start of the day is better.

Sunday, June 14th, 2009We are fighting a boat to boat fight against the Green Dragons here on the Danish coast. The breeze is a lot lighter than an hour ago and it turns out that we will have a beautiful sunset, while the crowd is still following us in little boats; it’s fantastic to see all these enthusiastic people.

Monday, June 8th, 2009From the gunshot at the start, this leg has been a real close boat to boat fight and it will probably stay that way till the finish line.

Delta Lloyd Leg Seven Day 7 QFB: received 22.05.09 0759 GMT
Friday, May 22nd, 2009I sat down to write that we are fast and safe, but thinking of it, it is hard to call this sailing safe when we are, most of the time, sailing right on the edge in 30-35 knots of breeze. A better description is wild. Tons and tons of water are crashing over the bow as we accelerating down the waves and spear through the next one.

Thursday, May 21st, 2009“This sailing makes you want to do this race again.” The smile on his face is telling as Nick Bice comes down after an hour of driving. The sailing conditions are absolutely stunning. Downwind, 25-30 knots, flat water and a red morning sun. With water temperatures up to 18C even the gloves and hats are off. This is the North Atlantic showing its pretty face.
